You do not need to know if you need a lawyer. You do not need to have your documents ready. Just get in touch and we will take it from there.
Your first conversation is about understanding your situation so we can work out whether we are able to assist you, and whether yours is a matter we can take on. We will listen and ask a few questions. This conversation is not legal advice, and there is no obligation on either side to proceed.
If you decide to go ahead, we will give you a clear picture of what it will cost before any work begins. For many matters, we offer a fixed fee. Payment plans are available. Everything is confirmed in writing.
Once we are engaged, you deal with the same person throughout. We keep you updated proactively at key milestones and are available whenever you need to talk. We communicate however suits you best.
We aim to respond to every enquiry same day where possible. If you contact us outside of office hours, we will get back to you first thing the next business day.
The purpose of the free initial enquiry is to work out whether we are able to assist you with your legal matter. It is a short conversation about your situation so that we can understand what your matter involves, check whether we are able to act for you, and tell you what engaging us would involve and what it would cost.
It is not legal advice, and it is not a substitute for it. We are not able to advise you on your rights, your prospects or what you should do until we have been formally engaged, have the relevant documents and information, and have completed our conflict of interest checks. No solicitor and client relationship arises from the initial enquiry, and none exists until we have confirmed our engagement with you in writing.
If your matter is urgent, or a limitation period or court date may be approaching, please say so during that first conversation so we can tell you promptly whether we can help.
